PENGEMBANGAN KALENDER CERITA BERBASIS PENDIDIKAN KARAKTER UNTUK SISWA SEKOLAH DASAR

Abstract

Abstract

This research aimed at developing learning media to assist learners in reading and writing activities and to instill character values. This was a research and development study. This study reffered to the research and development model by Borg and Gall and Sugiono. The were 7 stages performed in this study: (1) potential and problems, (2) data collection, (3) product design, (4) product validation, (5) product revision, (6) initial fields trials, and (7) trial run. Data were collected through interviewrs, validation sheets, and student questionnaire responses. The story calendar assessment results were obtained from validation sheet and student response questionnaire. The validation results showed that 87.5% was given by linguists, 88.89% by literature experts, 82.5% by media experts, 87.5% by design experts, and 98.2% by educational practitioners. The results of student responses in the initial field trial was 99.25% and in the use trial was 96.92%. Based on these results, the media of story calendar which was based on character education was suitable for use in the learning process.

Abstrak

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan media pembelajaran yang dapat membantu peserta didik dalam kegiatan membaca dan menulis serta menamkan nilai-nilai karakter. Jenis penelitian yang digunakan adalah penelitian dan pengembangan. Model penelitian dan pengembangan ini mengacu pada tahapan Research and Development yang dikemukakan oleh Borg and Gall dan Sugiono. Tahapan dalam penelitian ini terdapat 7 tahap, yaitu: (1) potensi dan masalah, (2) pengumpulan data, (3) desain produk, (4) validasi produk, (5) revisi produk (6) uji coba lapangan awal,  (7) uji coba pemakaian. Instrumen pengumpulan data yang digunakan yaitu, wawancara, lembar validasi, dan angket respon peserta didik. Hasil penilaian kalender cerita diperoleh dari lembar validasi dan angket respon siswa. Hasil validasi yang diperoleh dari ahli bahasa sebersar 87,5%, ahli sastra 88,89%, ahli media 82,5%, ahli desain 87,5%, dan ahli praktisi 98,2%. Serta hasil respon siswa pada uji coba lapangan awal sebesar 99,25% dan uji coba pemakaian sebesar 96,92%. Berdasarkan hasil validasi dan respon peserta didik pada uji coba lapangan awal dan uji coba pemakaian maka, media kalender cerita berbasis pendidikan karakter dinyatakan layak untuk digunakan dalam proses pembelajaran.
